Computer Technology and Programming offers a two-year program which provides foundations of a concise computer science education through its carefully designed curriculum. The curriculum includes contemporary computing topics and ultimately earns the students an Associate of Science degree. The curriculum emphasizes basic theory as well as practical experience in a variety of operating environments, tools and programming languages. It is designed to equip students with strong problem solving abilities, critical thinking abilities and skills for life long learning. Students who complete the program will have a thorough knowledge and experience in structured and object oriented programming in Windows and UNIX environments. Programming languages such as C, C++, Java, visual programming tools, web systems development, relational database management systems, and data communications are the major topics covered during the program. Students are required to design and implement various programming projects in partial fulfillment of the curriculum. |
